Indigenous Tourism Alberta (ITA)

Indigenous Tourism Alberta is the provincial association for Indigenous tourism in Alberta. This page tracks records requests about the public funding it receives, from the province and from the federal government, and how that funding is overseen.

Governance

Leadership shared with ITAC and Destination Canada

ITA's Board Chair also served as its interim CEO until a new CEO was appointed in February 2025 (ITA announcement, Feb 26, 2025). The same person is Vice-Chair of ITAC, representing Alberta, and was a director of Destination Canada, which funds ITAC.

No allegation is made against any person. The question is structural: how conflicts were declared and managed across the funder and the funded organizations. The full set of roles and sources is on the ITAC page.
